
Steve Owens
Steve, a professional engineer, joined Capital Power in 2010 and has managed the construction of nearly 4.0 GW of power projects in his career and over 2.0 GW of Capital Power’s current operating capacity. Steve currently leads the construction, pre-construction and engineering functions for the company but has overseen gas and renewable operations as well as supply chain management in the past.
Steve is responsible for ensuring that Capital Power maintains its competitive advantage through planning and constructing its new facilities safely, on time, and on budget. Steve also oversees engineering services in support of Capital Power’s operating fleet and development efforts, with a focus on plant reliability and plant efficiency programs, which are helping to provide industry leading plant availability and emission reductions.
Steve has spent his career in the industrial construction sector building and maintaining power plants throughout North America and abroad.
