Mike Teshima

Senior Vice President, Chief Operations Officer

With nearly 25 years of operations experience, Mike oversees the safe operation of approximately 12 GW of power generation capacity across North America, including Capital Power’s operations, engineering, project development and planning, construction, supply chain, and HSSE functions. He is responsible for reliability and efficiency programs that provide industry-leading plant availability and emission reductions. He also oversees Capital Power’s Data and Operations Centre, which provides 24/7 fleet-wide support in data analytics, condition-based monitoring, remote operations, dispatch and settlement services, turnaround support, and acquisition due diligence and integration.

Prior to his current role, Mike served as Vice President, Operations Canada at Capital Power, where he was accountable for safety, reliability, and operational efficiency across the Canadian generation fleet. He has a proven track record of driving long-term value creation through disciplined operational execution, strong cost management, and balanced, risk-based decision making in capital intensive environments. Mike is a trusted, people-focused leader known for creating clarity and alignment, strengthening organizational capability, and enabling teams to perform through periods of transformation.
