Capital Power has interests in 31 facilities across North America, with approximately 3,500 MW of owned or operated power generation capacity as well as 470 MW of capacity owned through power purchase agreements (PPAs). The company is actively developing a number of power generation projects and, at mid-2009, had a further 248 MW of owned capacity under construction. Headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, Capital Power draws on a 118-year heritage of innovation and reliability and a history of developing, acquiring, operating and optimizing power generation from a diverse range of energy sources. Capital Power employs about 1,000 people.
