Goreway Power Station
Located in Brampton, Ontario, the Goreway Power Station is an 875 MW natural gas fueled, combined cycle facility. The facility can provide electricity to Ontario's power grid 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, but primarily operates during intermediate and peak demand periods.
Capital Power and its employees contribute $400,000 in support of Alberta COVID-19 relief efforts
Capital Power and its employees have donated $400,000 in support of COVID-19 relief efforts in Alberta, raised through the Company’s ‘GENerosity: Let’s Rally Together’ matched-giving campaign and additional corporate contributions. This donation is eligible to be matched through the Government of Alberta’s Charitable Donations Matching Program, adding up to $800,000 in relief funds going to designated Alberta-based charities. The Company and its employees have also donated approximately $134,000 to charities in its communities in Ontario, British Columbia and across the United States through the GENerosity campaign.
East Windsor Cogeneration Centre
East Windsor Cogeneration Centre (EWCC) is is an 92 MW natural gas facility located on approximately 1.5 acres of industrial land in Windsor, Ontario. The facility was acquired from Veresen Inc. in February 2017. EWCC is fully contracted with the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operator until 2029.
Kingsbridge 1 Wind
Kingsbridge 1 Wind is located on 20,000 acres of privately-owned, leased lands in the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh in southwestern Ontario.  The facility operates under the terms of two energy supply contracts with the Ontario Power Authority which run through to 2027.
York Energy Centre
The nominal 456 MW York Energy Centre is located northwest of Newmarket, Ontario in the Township of King. Capital Power acquired its share in the York Energy Centre from Veresen Inc. in April 2017. The facility is jointly owned in a 50/50 partnership and is operated by Capital Power. York Energy Centre is fully contracted with the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operator until 2032.
East Windsor Generation Facility Expansion
Responding to the need for more power generation capacity in Ontario, Capital Power is proposing the East Windsor Generation Facility Expansion. The facility would help address the projected generation shortfall in the Windsor-Essex area that could occur as early as 2025 and support economic growth objectives in the region.
