Capital Power named one of Canada’s ‘Best 50 Corporate Citizens’ for ninth consecutive year


EDMONTON, Alberta – Capital Power is pleased to announce it is again ranked among Corporate Knights’ 2019 Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada. This marks the ninth consecutive year that Capital Power has received this esteemed recognition for its sustainability performance from Corporate Knights.

Capital Power is proud to share an annual Corporate Sustainability Report and Climate Change Disclosure, highlighting our efforts to provide responsible power generation and drive a sustainable future. For the Corporate Knights’ 2019 Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada evaluation, Capital Power received top quartile scores for gender diversity and alignment of executive compensation with sustainability goals, as well as above average scores for clean revenue and low CEO to average worker pay ratio.

The annual ranking of the Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada, now in its 18th year, sets the standard for corporate sustainability leadership. Corporate Knights analyzed the publicly-disclosed information of more than 242 large organizations against Canadian and global industry peers to determine the ranking. The methodology for the 2019 Best 50 Corporate Citizens of Canada is based on 21 quantitative key performance indicators (KPIs) covering resource, employee, and financial management, clean revenue and supplier performance.
