Investing in the Next Generation Through the YMCA
At Capital Power, our community investment approach focuses on partnerships that expand access to opportunity and strengthen the places where we live. That commitment is reflected in our work with the YMCA, where we’re helping more young people and families take part in programs that build confidence, well-being and connection.
As the Presenting Partner of the YMCA’s Strong Kids, Strong Communities, we’re supporting experiences that help children and youth across the Capital Region feel supported, included and ready to take on what comes next.
This summer, our support is helping send 600 children to YMCA camps who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend. Camp can be a first step toward greater independence: a place to build friendships, try new activities and create memories that last well beyond the season. Through this partnership, more families can access those experiences regardless of financial circumstances.

“Our communities are stronger when families can access programs and spaces that help them grow and connect. We’re proud to support the YMCA’s work and help open the door for more kids to experience camp and the year-round programs that build confidence, connection and belonging.”
– Ferio Pugliese, Chief Corporate Officer, Capital Power
Capital Power is also helping advance the YMCA’s Future Ready Youth initiatives, which provide access to programs focused on mental health, employment readiness, mentorship and youth development. For Capital Power, this partnership reflects the kind of community investment we aim to make grounded in local needs, focused on access and designed to create lasting value. Whether it’s helping a child attend camp, connecting a young person with mentorship, or supporting programs that foster confidence and belonging, we’re proud to work with organizations like the YMCA to help more people see what’s possible.
