Introducing WE Lead, Capital Power’s first employee community!

In 2023, Capital Power’s WE Lead was formed to empower women in the workplace. WE (Women Empowered) Lead is focused on fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace environment that supports women and a workplace culture that recognizes and values women’s’ perspectives and contributions.

Championed by Pauline McLean, Senior Vice President, External Relations and Chief Legal Officer, WE Lead is led by a passionate team of employees and members from our offices and facilities across North America. WE Lead’s goals include:

  • Empowering women by providing a platform to connect, share experiences, and access resources that enhance their personal and professional development.
  • Supporting women by fostering an inclusive community where women find mentorship, guidance, and encouragement.
  • Advocating for gender equality by promoting awareness, challenging biases, and addressing systemic barriers.
  • Educating employees on the importance of diversity and inclusion.

WE Lead’s mission is to champion the advancement and well-being of women at Capital Power, enabling them to lead and contribute to the success of our organization. We aim to break down barriers, empower women to excel, and be a catalyst for change both within our organization and in the wider community.

Guided by objectives and clearly defined success metrics, this diverse group of women and allies is committed to driving gender equality, promoting professional growth, and cultivating an environment where every woman can thrive.
