Hummel is a 1,124 MW combined cycle flexible generation facility located in Shamokin Dam, Pennsylvania. In 2025, Capital Power acquired the facility from LS Power Equity Advisors, LLC.

  •  One of the largest, newest and most efficient combined-cycle assets in the PJM market, capable of powering up to one million homes with:
    • 3 Siemens SGT6-5000F5ee Combustion Turbines
    • 3 NEM Heat Recovery Steam Generators
    • 1 Siemens SST6-5000 Steam Turbine
  • Development of the facility was one of the largest coal-to-gas conversions in the U.S.
  • 900 jobs created during construction with 35 long-term jobs ongoing for operations
