Step 3 – Identification Verification
3.1 Immediately after signing your offer, you will be asked to complete additional tasks to verify your identity via an email notification. You’ll find these tasks when you log in to your Workday account. This information is required for background checks and/or payroll. The tasks will ask you to provide:

- If your SIN starts with a 9, please include a copy of your work permit/visa as part of your attachment
- Date of Birth
- Copy of a government photo ID
- Photograph for access card
Please ensure to complete these additional tasks as soon as you complete your offer letter signing, as they can delay your background check process.
Step 4 – Background Checks and Pre-Employment Testing
4.1 After signing and submitting your offer and additional tasks, you will receive an email from “Certn” requesting you to complete an online form for your background checks. Background checks may include the following depending on your role:
- Criminal Record Check
- Education Verification
- Credential Verification
- Credit Check
- References (2 direct or indirect supervisory references)
4.2 If you are entering a safety sensitive position, you will additionally be required to undergo pre-employment medical testing based on your job requirements. Information related to your testing should be included in your offer letter if applicable. After the completion of the previous tasks, you will receive details on how to book your pre-employment testing from our People & Culture Team.
Once your background check process is successfully complete, our People & Culture Team will send you an email with the subject line “Cleared for Hire” containing confirmation of your start date and information on the next steps as mentioned below.
