Access Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
Capital Power has replaced Launch with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). AVD allows employees and contractors without access to a company computer to log in to platforms on their workstation.
How to access AVD
Microsoft Edge must be used to access AVD – Chrome will not work.
- Open the Windows App on your personal computer
(AVD set up instructions) - Login with:
- Capital Power network username & password
- Enter your Microsoft verification code

The Advanced Search feature will have to be activated by navigating to the search box and then selecting ‘Search Tool > Advanced Find’. Once opened, the appropriate search criteria may be entered
To access Capital Power applications when you are away from the office or do not have access to a company computer.
Open windows app on your desktop/laptop
All standard applications that are on your corporate desktop or laptop.
Your second credential is the form of security verification you have specified in your Microsoft account (ie Authenticator app or hardware token/code)
