Located at the existing Goreway Power Station in Brampton, the Goreway Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility provides 50 MW of power storage capacity with electrical energy output for up to four hours. The Goreway BESS is one of Capital Power’s first-ever battery energy storage system projects, delivered alongside a second Ontario site — both completed on time, under budget, and with an excellent safety record. - Helps meet increasing electricity demands by providing critical backup support
- Better enables reliable supply of electricity in support of integrating intermittent renewable energy sources (i.e., wind and solar)
