Financing a Lower-Carbon Energy Future
In August 2022, we released our inaugural Green Financing Framework, enabling us to issue green bonds and green loans. These financing instruments will be utilized to allocate capital towards energy projects that support our efforts to power a lower-carbon energy future.
The Green Financing Framework sets out the guidelines for Capital Power’s green financing activities in accordance with the Green Bond Principles 2021 issued by the International Capital Markets Association and the Green Loan Principles 2021 issued by the Loan Market Association and Loan Syndications and Trading Association. Sustainalytics completed a second-party opinion on our Green Financing Framework, which outlined that the Green Financing Framework is credible and impactful and aligns with the Green Bond Principles 2021 and Green Loan Principles 2021.
