Ontario - Port Dover & Nanticoke Wind Project Bookmark and Share

Project Description

Construction of Capital Power’s 105-MW Port Dover and Nanticoke Wind Project located in the Counties of Haldimand and Norfolk commenced in September 2012.

The Project, which will feature 58 turbines, received its Renewable Energy Approval (REA) from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment on July 17, 2012.   Turbine components will begin to arrive this summer and assembly will be ongoing through the summer and fall with commercial operation of the Project expected in the fourth quarter of 2013.

Renewable Energy Approval Amendment

As a result of continued consultation, Capital Power requested a minor modification to the Amendment submitted to the Ministry of the Environment on September 19th, 2012.  Capital Power is proposing two routings for the collector system within the previously proposed buildable area.  One location for the collector line will be used as the final location upon completion of the consultation and detailed design.  The construction will remain within the previously proposed buildable area. The Ministry of the Environment issued the amendment to the Project's Renewable Energy Approval on December 21, 2012.

The final REA reports for the Project are available for review below.
