2016 Corporate Responsibility Report

We're Moving Forward

In 2016, Capital Power delivered on strategy and continued navigating the transition to a lower-carbon energy future. We agreed to eliminate emissions from coal in Alberta by the end of 2030, launched new initiatives to reduce near-term and pre-2030 carbon emissions at existing facilities, and began construction on our first wind development project in the United States.

We celebrated our strongest safety performance to date and received recognition as one of the Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada by Corporate Knights magazine for a seventh consecutive year and earned a spot as one of Alberta’s Top 70 Employers for the second straight year.

On behalf of all of us at Capital Power, we are proud to share our 2016 Corporate Responsibility Report, We’re Moving Forward. This report reflects our performance, accomplishments, challenges, and passion for our business.
