- Brown Lake is a 7-megawatt (MW) hydroelectric power facility located on the Ecstall River, near Brown Lake and Prince Rupert, BC
- Water flow comes from Brown Lake and McKnight Lake
- The facility is located on leased Crown land
- Water rental fees are paid to the Province of BC, and royalty payments are made to one of the original developers until 2034
- All output is sold through a 20-year term Energy Purchase Agreement with BC Hydro, through to December 2016
- Power generation from the facility is generally consistent throughout the year, with the exception of July and August when water flows and the resulting electricity generated are generally lower.
