A cancer support facility that opened in late 2016, Wellspring Edmonton complements medical treatment and healthcare services currently available by filling essential gaps – all at no cost for cancer patients and their families.
Wellspring Edmonton joins a growing network of 11 Wellspring centres across Canada providing the necessary tools, strength and support for people to live well with cancer, along with their family, friends and caregivers who journey with them.
Capital Power is proud to support this important facility as a Lead Donor with a three-year commitment for support. The Capital Power Seminar Room within the Wellspring Edmonton building accommodates Wellspring’s core support programs, specialized training sessions for peer support volunteers as well as high-demand Discussion Series Workshops.
In 2012, Capital Power was proud to present “Under the Night Sky – Wellspring Shines” Wellspring Edmonton’s premier fundraising event. The 2nd annual gala event took place Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Enjoy Centre in St. Albert raising over $46,000 for the facility.
In addition to providing financial support, Capital Power Senior Vice President, Operations, Construction & Engineering, Darcy Trufyn, participates as a Director on the Wellspring Board of Directors.
