With the demand for electricity rising, the Ontario Power Authority is ensuring Ontarians – including those citizens residing in the Cambridge area – continue to have a reliable supply of environmentally-responsible power.
As part of an expected future request for proposals from the Ontario Power Authority, Capital Power is proposing to build and operate a power generation plant in Cambridge. The generation plant would use state-of-the-art natural gas technology to generate electricity in an environmentally-responsible and reliable way, to meet peak electricity demands. The location of Capital Power’s proposed generation plant is at 1140 Main Street, east of Franklin Boulevard, south of Clyde Road, west of Shellard Side Road and north of Main Street.
